Media Foundation 360 held its third session of webinar series under the banner of News Lens Pakistan on Saturday February 28th. The topic of discussion this time was ‘Conflict Sensitive Reporting’ which was presented by senior journalist Hasan Khan.
The presenter discussed with the participants how to report unbiased information during the times of conflict, importance of having a deeper knowledge of what causes conflict and how it ends. Presenter also stressed upon realizing media’s role in times of conflict and how it can affect the situation. Session also included safety and protection mechanism for journalists working in conflict area.
The seminar helped the journalists to better understand various approaches to reporting in a conflict zone and the importance of authenticating sources and verifying information.
